Godzilla Ultimate Monsters Set

by JasonApril 24, 2010

In the second episode of Planet X Control Room, I’ve made a review on the Godzilla Ultimate Monster set. I’ve found 5 of 6 figures in the set (which I’ve not gotten around to looking for the 6th figure which is just the Godzilla without the transparent, baby blue dorsal fins), and I hope to find the 6th figure in the first weekend of May. You can find these figures individually or in a set at Amazon. The set is going for $80 and $13-$19 for the figures individually.

The figures are nicely detailed and crafted by Bandai Japan. One thing that could be nice is if they added a light/glowing feature to Godzilla’s transparent dorsal fins to show a difference between that Godzilla and the other Godzilla, but nonetheless I like the Godzilla figure. The one downside to these figures is their VERY limited articulation for the body parts and the permanent body stance, especially the Godzilla stance. You can only move the arms on some of the figures and that’s pretty much all you can move.

Overall, I love this Godzilla Ultimate Monsters set very much. As I’ve said in PXCR, my favorite would have to be Gigan because of how he is presented and how detailed he is. Bandai also made an effort to make his eyes transparent. I’d recommend this set for those who like the Godzilla: Final Wars monster suit designs or for fans of particular monsters, or just collecting the Ultimate Monsters set.
